Great Things I Noticed this Week:
*On the first day back I saw several activities in classrooms for class community and relationship building--a great use of the "Significant 72." I saw partner discussions during "Mingle, Mingle, mingle!", sharing about holiday break, and discussions about new year's goals for academic and social goals. I also noticed several of you rehearsing classroom/hallway procedures and even iPad expectations (with some iPad picture cleanup) to get students back in the groove.
*4th graders joining together to watch all of their public service announcements that had been recorded as a final project for their non-fiction writing unit. I think we have some future news anchors in this group!
*Students reviewing math using Kahoot to make it fun, while also adding in some test prep instruction after the question/responses.
*I LOVED your One Word goals for the rest of the year. I got as many pics as I could of your rocks, but not of all. I'm hoping we can gather our rocks up for a pic on our next pd day!

Events Next Week:
Monday - I will announce our students of the month at 8:05
-the iReady winter diagnostic starts. When students login to iReady they won't be able to use online instruction for each subject until they complete the diagnostic
-Our CESA 6 director, Ted Neitzke will be spending the day at Dodgeland to check us out. Just letting you know in case you see a stranger peaking in...he's friendly! (P.S. for those of you podcast addicts, Ted has the podcast: Smart Thinking podcast that you might enjoy)
-New Teachers mtg 3:15

No other events next week-- am I missing something?!

Upcoming events:
*End of Semester is fast approaching (January 17th). Please be in contact with parents of any students' who classroom performance is slipping so there are no surprises on their report cards. Let me know if you would like any assistance with these conversations.
